Sauna benches
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE DETAILS
Information about Marinbastun's sauna benches
The sauna planks for our sauna cabins and sauna rafts are built with heat-treated aspen. Aspen is a very suitable type of wood to use inside the sauna as it does not bleed resin which can burn and make a mess. Additionally, thanks to its low density, this type of wood does not get as hot as many others.
Selection of sauna boards
Visually, regular aspen differs from heat-treated aspen. Regular aspen is light and almost whitish when new. Over time, it yellows slightly but always maintains a pleasant, naturally light surface. Heat-treated aspen is more brownish in tone. When you look at the pictures on our website, you will soon start to recognise the different sauna planks.
Does it feel difficult to choose which type of wood you want? Then you are of course welcome to visit our factory or book a viewing with one of our salespeople, so they can see what the materials look like in reality.

The design of the sauna benches
When it comes to the design of the sauna benches, this differs between the smaller and larger models. The Juni, Svea, and Leo models generally have a straight upper and lower bench. This is well-suited for the space available in the sauna room. If, as a customer, you would still prefer the angled solution that we have on our larger models, you can order this. What you should bear in mind is that the benches will not be quite as deep and the floor space will be reduced.
On larger sauna models, we always make the sauna benches angled. This is a highly appreciated solution. It is not only aesthetically pleasing but also allows two people to stretch out fully on the upper level.
It's a lot of work and solid craftsmanship to create sauna benches that are both aesthetically pleasing and practical. All our sauna benches are built so they can be removed to facilitate cleaning and maintenance.
